millennium Park, Chicago Illinois Millennium Park Chicago has a lot to offer to new comers and tourists. There are lots of places to eat and see. You can drive in a cap for hours and hours just sightseeing. The one place that you can’t truly explore with a cab however is Millennium Park. Millennium Park is one of America’s largest and newest city parks. It was opened in 2004 4 years late of the millennium it was supposed to be celebrating. The Park consists of several city blocks which are woven into a park with world renowned sculptures, garden, and other entertainment. The park was late and extremely over budget perhaps because of the massive silver “bean” that calls Millennium park home. The bean is formally known as Cloud Gate and was designed by a British artist Anish Kapoor. It is truly something to see. The bean is massive and almost completely created uses steel each piece was precisely welding together then polished for hours on ends to give the bean mirror finish. There is no other place that you can see a sculpture so remarkable and puzzling at the same time. Except for maybe in a funhouse at a caravel, the curved edges sometimes give reflections a cartoony look. The bean is really amazing and if in Chicago you have to go see it.

Chicago Museum of Science + Industry Chicago Museum of Science + Industry -- Science and Industry has always gone hand and hand. First science discovers something new then industry finds a place for it and creates new technology with that knowledge. From that knowledge science can use the new technology to find new “things” and from there the cycle is continued. Without science there would be no industry, and without industry science could not thrive. Chicago was a very industrial city industry has had a very large impact on the development of the city. To keep track of this history and science Chicago is home to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. It is a fantastic place to visit while in Chicago. Great for all ages it is perfect for a family with small children or with older kids and teens. In fact some would say it is geared more for older kids and adults. It is one of the most popular places to visit in Chicago and for good reasons I would recommend it to everyone looking for a great day of fun with a little learning. See a giant boat, planes, trucks, and some things you didn’t know existed as you spend hours on hours exploring this one of a kind museum. Admission is just $18 bucks for adults, seniors get a dollar off, and kids can enjoy for just $11.
