Three Lakes Nature Center & Aquarium
Every city has those places that not everyone knows about. The places that are just out of the way enough that the average passer byer doesn’t find it. Those are the type of places that I love to visit when I’m vacating because those places usually really capture what the town and people are all about. In Richmond there is a place outside of town called Three Lakes Nature Center and Aquarium. I love Aquariums fish just amaze me and the fact that we can create an ecosystem and keep everything alive in a glass tank is just crazy. The Nature center is a place pushed back among the trees at three lakes. It’s a great place to being the family as there are 2 play grounds a swimming whole, and lots of trails for you and your family to enjoy. The other plus is of course the Nature Center. It is filled with animals ranging from stingrays to trout. The exhibits are clean and informative it really teaches you a lot about what to expect in the area and gives you the opportunity to really see a lot of cool fish. If you are more of a land animal person don’t worry the forest around the trial is littered with deer’s, rabbits, and other furry creatures.

There are certain things that every little boy loves and fanatics them. One of those things is Aviation but you don’t stop loving as you grow older most grown men still love aviation as grown men. It is just amazing how a huge hunk of steel can fly through the air. There is lots of history in flight and the trip to get to where we are today wasn’t quick. There are many Aviation Museums around that keep track of that history and one of the best is in Richmond, Virginia. I took my boys to the Virginia Aviation Museum and they loved it there was so many planes my youngest tried to take off his shoes to keep track. He still would have got lost because there are over 30 planes and my kids have the normal amount of fingers and toes. Admission was cheap at just $6.50 for adults and $5.50 for kids. One of the things that we really loved and have only seen at the Virginia Aviation Museum is an exhibit all about Airplane engines. They are some of the strongest on the planet and its amazing how they have grown over the years. Going from prop engines to the powerful jet engines we have today. The amount of engineering that went into these engines is amazing and the exhibit captures it very well. The Aviation Museum is a wonderful to go and enjoy the history which is captured within its walls.
