Capitol Square
Perched on a hilltop is Capitol Square surrounded by an oasis of trees and
green lawns. Center stage is the State Capitol Building designed by Thomas
Jefferson and in use since 1788. Sculptured in the rotunda stands a life
size statue of George Washington, Virginia's most valued treasure. Just as
important is the Governor's mansion which has been restored all the way down to
it's original woodwork, plaster cornices, and original ceiling.

The Museum and White House of the Confederacy
Housing the most comprehensive collection country-wide is the Museum of the
Confederacy. Containing both memorabilia and art, the exhibit includes 550
battle flags, 215 uniforms, 1000 military buttons, E.B.D Julio's
heroic painting, and 'The Last Meeting of Lee and Jackson'. Besides the
Museum is the White House of the confederacy where President Jeffereson Davis
resided in 1818.

Richmond National Battlefield Park
Landmark of famous battlefields between 1861 - 1865, Richmond became
the target of the Union's campaigns to turn the
war in favor of the south. Associated with those campaigns are three
different battlefields, Gaines' Mill, Malvern Hill, and Cold Harbor.
Explorer 763 acres of historic battleground protected by the national park and
the Visitor Center in the Tredegar Irons Works on the Richmond Riverfront Canal
Walk.
