Chewacla State Park

Miles of nature trails for hiking and biking follow the creeks and hills of thie 696-acre park. A 26-acre lake for swimming, fishing and boating as well as tennis courts, playground, a beautiful waterfall, picnic areas and group camp area.

On the morning of 27 March 1814, General Andrew Jackson and an army of 3,300 men consisting of Tennessee militia, United States regulars and both Cherokee and Lower Creek allies attacked Chief Menawa and 1,000 Upper Creek or Red Stick warriors fortified in the "horseshoe" bend of the Tallapoosa River.

Forest Ecology Preserve
This 110-acre educational facility offers 11 focal areas for observation and study. The Canopy amphitheater which seats 300 is next to the restrooms and handicap trail. Focal areas include the Wetlands, Butterfly garden, GPS trail, fern trail, reptile trail and wildlife trail. Also used as an orienteering course.
