Pentagon Barracks

1823 and 1824 buildings that housed military troops and visited by
Generals Grant and Lee, Jefferson Davis, and Abraham Lincoln. Five
buildings were to make up the pentagonal shape, but only four were ever
built. After the Civil War, the buildings were given to the use of the
University.
