Centennial Park Downtown
A lasting legacy to the 1996 Olympics, the Centennial Park is a downtown
Atlanta Gathering place. Boasting diversified family fun-filled activity,
the Park is opened throughout the year providing lots of
concerts, events, and water fountain shows. An Engineering marvel,
800,000 bricks were used in construction of the Park, 4.5 miles of conduit for
lighting, 30 miles of wire, 11 miles of underground irrigation, transformer
supplied power of 9 - 220 thousand volts and granite used for each
continent represented in the Olympics. Computer generated fountains pump
5000 gallons of water per minute and are currently programmed with 7 songs.

Georgia Aquarium
Undoubtedly the stars of the show, the Aquarium has two whale sharks
which are the first in captivity aside from Asia. Viewing of these majestic
animals can be accomplished in the Ocean voyager section a clear acrylic
100-foot-long underwater tunnel. Likewise the two marine animals can be see
inside the viewing area which is a 61 foot wide dark room of aquarium glass.
Sharing the tank with four juvenile whale sharks are 100,000 diversified
species of fish as well has rays and sharks

Atlanta Botanical Gardens
Since opening 28 years ago, the Botanical Gardens have had major impact on
research and Conservation. Divided between 30 acres is the Main Garden, the
Gardens under glass, the Children's Garden, and Storza Woods. Featuring a
butterfly pavilion, tree house, caterpillar maze, and a dinosaur garden with a
waterfall garden is the interactive Children's Garden constructed on two-acre
site. A free shuttle runs between the Colony Park shopping center and the
Gardens.
