Enterprise Adding Hybrid Cars To Locations
Global warming is a growing concern in today’s world and one of the greatest contributors to this phenomenon is the automobile. With so many petrol-powered vehicles in the world, the emissions that these vehicles let out on a daily basis are absolutely amazing. Scientists believe that if we can develop alternate ways to fuel our vehicles, it would do wonders to slow down, if not halt, the global warming process. One way to do this is to implement vehicles that function on a mixture of gas and electricity, known as a hybrid. Many of the major vehicle manufacturers have there own type of hybrid vehicles and many more are looking into this new way to power their vehicles at a lower cost to the environment. Well, there is one rental car company in particular that is doing their part to clean up the environment by adding 5,000 gas/electric hybrids to their all ready massive fleet, and that company is Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
Starting this 2008 holiday season, Enterprise Rent-A-Car is adding nearly 5,000 hybrid vehicles to their fleet in effort to knock down high vehicle emissions. Enterprise all ready boasts the largest fleet in the rental car industry, not to mention the largest fleet of fuel-friendly vehicles in the business. The addition to this many hybrid vehicles nearly double the amount of fuel-efficient vehicles that Enterprise holds within their fleet. Enterprise believes that this will help customers save money by attaining a greater fuel economy, while helping the environment by using less fuel and cutting high emissions that we are used to seeing in regular gas powered vehicles.
Enterprise is launching their hybrid initiative in Stamford, CT. The initiative will be expanding through out the country in the up coming year, adding 80 more neighborhood and airport locations. It seems that everyone can do their part to save a little piece of the environment and the Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s “hybrid location” program shows that big industry can do their part as well.
