"Well pick you up."

Enterprise has been, and always will be an interesting Rental Car Agency. The agency has a small business feel, with a large business profit.

"Enterprise is a Big Company with a small business feel. How have we sucessfully increased revenue and income every year throughout our history? And more importantly, how do we do it with expectional customer service? The Answer lies in the powerful dynamics of our powerful culture, and the the dynamics that bring that culture to life."

This is the first thing you read as you enter Enterprise's "About us" section. This about sums up the mega companies mission statement. Also owning Alamo and National, this company has quite the business prowess. The president of the company was quoted saying, "Making sure our customers are completely satisfied, is the driving force behind our company. No pun intended."

One thing this company is known for doing, is setting up offices and locations in small communities, instead of major places such as Airports and coast locations. These locations are run by a small, highly entrepreneural team.

The company started as a survey team in the basement of a St Louis office building for a car dealership. This team included a few people including an accountant, phone screeners, and a car washer. After countless surveys, the company got a majority of their ideas from people saying that they wanted to "Rent cars from places they live and work." After having enough, Enterprise was born. The mega-company still uses models developed by the original team. Since this company was built slowly, it built relationships with its customers. Enterprise has considered this a strong-point in their business models.

With more than 7000 locations nationwide, this make Enterprise one of the largest agencies in the world. They have an office within fifteen minutes of 90% of the United States. They also do their part in the economy by purchasing their new vehicles from smaller dealerships, instead of major corperations (ie. Ford, Kia, Chevrolet, GMC).

The other different thing that Enterprise does, is rate their branches based on "Exceptional Customer Service Index" (EQSi) rather than sales. If a EQSi for a branch is high, and their sales are low, they will recieve a higher rank than a branch that has a gigantic sales chart, and a low EQSi. This is one way that Enterprise stands out from other rental car agencies. Jack Taylor (Owner and president of Enterprise) says "EQSi is just one way, we are trying to to put our customers first. The result is that we have millions of smiling faces and happy customers. Business usually comes after that. Not before."

While enterprise has been doing well, even in the economic state, its easy to tell why. Its rare that you find a company that treats their customers so well. Make sure, the next time you get ready to book a vacation, look into Enterprise. They'll look after you.
