My Mustang GT

We landed in Dallas, Texas early one August morning. I stepped from the plane to the terminal and made my way to the airport gates. As I was walking from the plane terminal to the baggage claim my stomach began to growl. All of this traveling had made me very hungry. I needed to get something to eat and I needed it fast! I met up with my family and we all quickly grabbed our bags (them being just as hungry) and made our way down to the rental car lot.

We quickly walked over to the Avis rental car center and hopped in line. As I was standing in line my stomach began to growl even louder. Oh man I couldn't wait to get something to eat. It was our turn at the counter and we spoke to a nice lady named Amanda. She was very polite and helped us out a ton with our rental car. I was expecting us to be there for at least half an hour. However this was not the case. She just simply looked our name up in the computer, we showed our photo id, paid her the amount that we owed, she handed us the keys and we were on our way.

We took a step outside and saw it there waiting for us. It was a 2009 red Ford Mustang GT. My dad threw me the keys and said “let’s go I’m starving.” From the airport we drove off the lot and went straight to Chilies to get a bite to eat. It was really great that we rented our car. Not only are we able to explore everything that Texas has to offer; but we look good while doing it!

Renting a car in Minnesota.

It was a dark misty night. The next day I was going on a trip to see my girlfriend in Minnesota. I knew that the only way that I would be able to get around is if I rented a car, but i wanted the best rate that i could get. I went online and was checking out the different web sites that offer rental car deals. All of the sites had discounted rates, but the one that really caught my eye was Rental Car Momma. Not only did it have the cheapest rates but it also had all of the rental car companies throughout the nation. I quickly jumped on the great deal that i found and made my reservations. Now the only thing left to do was to get there and pick the car up.

As we were on our decent to land I kept thinking to myself how much I could not wait to lay down in my bed and get some rest. All of this traveling had wore me out. But then it began to set into me how much headache I'm going to have to go through from here to there. Between getting my bags and then the hassle of the rental car its going to be frustrating. We landed in the airport and I went to baggage claim to get my bag. As I was walking to the baggage claim I received a phone call from my girlfriend. She said that she was already there waiting for me at the baggage claim. After receiving my bag I met up with my girlfriend and we proceeded to Thrifty for my rental car. I'm going to be totally honest, I was very nervous when I went to get my rental car. I had made my reservations before hand with Rental Car Momma but I wasn't sure exactly how it worked or if it even worked for that matter.

I approached the counter and the nice lady asked me for my photo id. She looked me up in the computer and sure enough I had already made my reservations for my rental car. Just out of curiosity i asked her how much it would be if i had not made my reservations. She quickly turned to her computer, typed some numbers in and told me an absolutely outrageous amount. Someone that had not made reservations was going to have to pay almost double what I was! I figured since I got such a low rate that I was going to have to pay some additional fees. That, however, was not the case. The lady told me my total and then asked me for my credit card. I payed my dues, she handed me the keys and we were on our way. It was so simple it almost didn't seem real.

I drove off the rental car lot and could not believe the deal that I had just got. From there we had to celebrate not only me arriving but also the money that I had just saved by booking through Rental Car Momma. From now on I will always make reservations with Rental Car Momma so I can get the cheapest rate on rental cars.

New York 09'

Driving up to New York from Maryland with 8 people and luggage in a small car could never possibly be fun. That is exactly why we rented an 8-passenger van from Thrifty at the BWI Baltimore Airport. The great thing about Thrifty was that it was relatively easy to rent a car from them; there was absolutely no hassle at all. We’ve traveled from Baltimore to New York and New York to Baltimore many times in the past and we were used to a cramped 3 hour drive that felt like 30 hours. Aside from the individual comfort everyone got while traveling another great thing was the trunk space. No matter who you are or who you’re traveling with I firmly believe that there will always be someone who needs to stop somewhere or get something out of their bag or suit case the van eliminated the unnecessary moving around, hoping over, getting out as well. The main reason for going to New York was for my parent’s High School Reunion, we drove the van to the park where the reunion was being hosted and parked right in front of the grill the van gave everyone a place to sit and relax as well. At the end of the reunion we went to our hotel. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn near JFK Airport the service was great, they had free valet parking as well. We spent the next day attending a family barbecue and catching up with friends and family we haven’t seen for 6 years since we’ve moved to Florida. We left New York at around 11:00 PM that night when everyone was tired, It seemed as if everyone but the driver had a relaxing nap on the way back because of all the room they had without overlapping on someone else. Overall the van was a great investment for our trip and we will always consider getting one before driving a long distance again!
