Kenner Louisiana

Space Station Kenner
So we recently went to Texarkana in Texas for a family reunion, and we were told about some of the local areas around Louisiana. Quiet a bit of our extended family are from the New Orleans area, and we decided that we would like to affiliate ourselves with the state of Louisiana. And since my wife is all about taking pictures we decided that we would visit some of the more glamorous places in the state.

Before we left we took to our usual tradition and rented a car from Avis. Now if you remember the last time we went to meet with the family we decided to rent a car that would leave a little bit of an impression on the rest of our family. That Camaro SS was so beautiful… but after careful instructions from my wife we settled on a Chevrolet Impala. Since it’s only a state away there were no plane tickets or train rides, we simply just rented the car and we were off on our way to Kenner, where we decided we would visit the Space Station Kenner. The Space Station is a full sized recreation of the international space station that currently orbits earth. It was a cool little adventure and we really enjoyed it. Around the outside of the space station there is a wide variety of cool space… well stuff. History and science combined, it was really fun and there were a lot of photo opportunities.

Kenner also has this really cool Heritage Park where you can see the town’s history; probably the best thing is the 1930’s gas station. It reminded me of a bunch of funny stories my father used to tell when we sat around on Sundays. Anyhow the park is built primarily out of old buildings and shops. The idea is to physically show you how the town advanced through the years, it’s a really cool all hands on experience.

Serranos Salsa Company, the most amazing food I have ever had. We met up with some of our extended family and they suggested this is where we all go to eat. The place is amazing, I don’t know that I could ever have Mexican food again and be satisfied, that’s just how amazing this place is. I look back on my trip and realize that I would go all the way back to Louisiana just for a night out at Serranos.

Louisiana is great, if you ever just get spare time to explore a state this is the one. Although I guess that’s not really gonna happen until you’re retired like me. But hey, if your in Louisiana these are some cool places you can visit.
