Warwick New York

New York HillsWe are back in Central Florida after a very long trip to Texas, where we visited just about every single attraction in the entire state. We even got to enjoy the All-Star game in Dallas from an abandoned parking lot with other fans, an experience I liked, but don’t ever to do again. Anyway now that were back I am really in the mood just to relax, and when we got a phone call from some family way up north to come enjoy ridiculously cold whether and their company seemed like fun. I mean I really like the concept of splitting wood and sitting next to the warm fire while it snows outside.

My family lives up in Warwick New York, a small town just outside of Poughkeepsie… yes that is actually its name. Anyhow, this time we decided to take an air plane, something we don’t usually do. When we arrived there was a Hertz right in the airport terminal so we decided to rent a vehicle right from there. We picked out a Chevrolet Cobalt, because of the small nature of the town we expected that they wouldn’t have a wide selection of vehicles, boy were we wrong.

Anyway the Cobalt suited us just fine and in no time we were on our way to our relatives. Now before I go on you gotta understand this area of New York. When most people think of the New York area they instantly think of Manhattan and the city… however, ninety percent of New York is beautiful rolling hills and rocky hillsides. This is the reason it is so relaxing, and when it’s covered in snow its even better.

Were up here feasting on deer and bear now, something they shot during the hunting season. I love the outdoors lifestyle but what’s even more fantastic is relaxing on a giant bearskin in front of the fireplace while watching a movie with family. Yea I’m getting old, but hey the enjoyment I get from watching my grandchildren is great.
