Oregon Ducks - Part 2
After that, we overheard from one of the innkeepers that there was a cave closeby that its fill with sea lions. Even tho, it wasn’t the season for them, they were having a few of them in there. So we went with our car to the Sea Lions Cave in Florence and in there we found that at the top they have a sculpture of a huge Sea Lion. Since every people we saw was taking their picture, we did the same thing. We asked kindly one person in there to take the pics. Poor thing, cause it was seven cameras, but he made it! Then we paid the price of admission and then we go thru the trail and we find the entrance to the elevator (we never in our wildest dreams would have think an elevator was there!). after that, we got off from the elevator and went thru another trail that lead directly to the humongous area where the sea lions were. Granted, there weren’t that many, but still it was a good size pack. The place its huge, let me tell you. A cave that is 12-stories high and stretches a football length. You can hear the screams of the sea lions. Since we come from florida and we have gone to SeaWorld a few times, we weren’t scare, but still is different cause this ones where in the wild! It was wintery time and from a little bit far we saw the fumes of something and immediately the guide said it was a whale crossing. That indeed was excited!
So we return to Jimbos house, and he told us about this nice Italian restaurant that he considers the best, Beppe & Gianni’s Trattoria. Let me say, the best Italian food I ever taste (one thing, I haven’t gone to Italy yet!). I had the pasta Puttanesca which is spicy but not too much, Rachel had the fish and it was very tasty, Alejandra had the Lasagna, Bob had the one that has all seafood that he joke with the mussels and it was so freakin funny that the people in the other table move the table to be with us. It was a good time!
The following day we went to NIKETOWN which is the biggest Nike Store and is part museum as well. They had a bunch of things plus a real-life mannequin of Jordan and the outside building looks like a one of those philharmonic theater. But one thing is that some items were so expensive. But we found good sales, and some hats and shirts and jerseys of the Ducks. We needed to be prepare for Saturday!
It came the day, and we all woke up with our Ducks Attire. We went to Autzen Stadium which is close to Jimbo’s house. Once there, the stadium was packed with crazy Ducks followers dressed as…well, you can imagine that! It was the Ducks vs. Arizona, it was a no contest, but let me tell you that the place was awesome and the fans were all very friendly. However, there’s no fans like either Gators or ‘Noles!
We return home, but it was an awesome adventure and we saw our friend Jimbo and all I have to say is that he hasn’t change. Eugene is totally a riot and a great place. And cant wait to make plans to visit again. We have to get a Pac-10 vs a SEC other than the one that we think is coming (hey Tigers watch out, this Ducks really fly!).
