Miami's Best

Famous for a great number of reasons, Miami has become one of the most visited cities in the nation, especially from the central and South American countries, because of its charm, warmth and charisma; bringing great numbers of immigrants to stay in the growing Hispanic region, with its gorgeous beaches and beautiful sunny weather. The best beaches, as if there were some that aren't great beaches, include Lummus Park Beach, where all the beautiful people come to work on their golden tans, supple muscle tones and socialize with the rich and famous. Many feel somewhat intimidated by the great expanse of golden sands and bodies, but the waves are always great, and the water is like a huge gigantic bathtub; or Matheson Hammock Park Beach with a magnificent 3 mile long beach set inside a park with kiddie rides, playground, picnic areas and a superb golf course. It is a man made swimming hole, designed more for Miami Florida Beachfamilies and has been said not the best place for singles. Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park sits at the end of Key Biscayne, and is known for its wide, peachy colored sand with fairly easy waves and not much of a surf, but it is a great beach for all, with the weekends busier for families, although never getting crowded since it is a ways from downtown where the majority want to be seen and to showoff. There are many miles of trails at this park, with rental companies set up to handle beach chairs and umbrellas, bikes, boats and a casual dining place called the Lighthouse Cafe. Fishing is great off the piers and you will find many folks here getting a great main course for their dinners. Hollywood Beach is midway between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, with gorgeous white sandy beaches stretching out for miles, and many consider it to be one of the premier beaches of the coast. Here you can play beach volleyball, become part of a yoga or tai-chi class, stroll along a 2 mile boardwalk with small quaint shops, restaurants and cafes and if you are going north, then you should run into the North Beach sea turtle hatchery, which is delightful for the children since it is associated with the Endangered Sea Turtle Protection Program. Haulover Beach is the clothing optional beach, with splendid body surfing and regular surfing with the best waves in the area. The sany is fine and white, with a big orange sun blazing down onto it, set against a blue sky and aqua sea, the scenery is very beautiful, and the people are too.
