Piazza di Spagna
means Spanish Steps is located at Pincio Hill built between 1723 and
1726. Walk down any glamorous street in Rome and you will end up at the
Spanish Steps. Shops around the steps are expensive boutiques like Prada,
Gucci, Valentino, Fendi, Missoni, Armani and more. In the summertime the
steps are used for and a famous fashion show. At the foot of the steps
is the Barcaccia Fountain symbolizing the disastrous flood from the
Tevere River in 1598. At the top of the steps is the French Church of
Trinita dei Monti built in 1495. The 137 steps were built to have
appropriate access to the church. The famous Pink House is on the right
side of the steps. Poet John Keats died inside the Pink House in 1821.
Keats Shelley Museum is now inside and is dedicated to English writers
like J. Keats, G. G. Byron, P. B. Shelley and L. Hunt. |

Roman Forum
was the center of ancient Rome. Businesses, justice administration,
religious activities, and even cult and prostitution took place at the
Roman Forum. Some of Rome's most important buildings were there for
centuries. The Roman Empire used the Forum for spectacular showcase of
spoils from battles, beautiful statues and architecture. The main road
through the Forum links the main sights of the Forum such as the Arch of
Titus, the Temple of Vesta, the Temple of Saturn, and the church of San
Luca e Martina.
