Disney's California Adventure
The Disney's California
Adventure Park in Anaheim, California, is another one of their theme
parks that opened in 2001, right next door to Disneyland and
included in the bigger megatropolis of Disneyland Resort sitting on
55 acres and was part of the huge expansion program that took
Disneyland and made it into the Disney Resort. This resort now
contains five magnificent and exciting areas that include, Paradise
Pier, A Bug's Land, Sunshine Plaza, the Golden State and Hollywood
Pictures Backlot. During 1991, the Disney corporation said that they
were going to build another gate in the city, calling it WestCOT,
which would become the west coast's version of Epcot; and put it in
the former main parking lot. For various reasons, the plan fell
through in 1995, and eventually became the newer idea of Disney's
California Adventure (DCA), which would be a celebration of the
state, kind of like stepping into a postcard and part of a bigger
plan that would expand the park into a multi-day vacation area that
would be appreciated by more people; and close to the Walt Disney
World Resort. Construction started in 1998, and would also include
the Paradise Pier hotel, Downtown Disney, refurbishing the
Disneyland Hotel and Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. It was
finished in 2001, and a newer multi-level parking garage is located
nearby with room for double the original 5000 cars.
