Right outside of the small tower of Barlett you can find the Pink Palace Family of Museums. This combination museum, Imax Theater, and planetarium is between Barlett and Memphis. The museum always has great new exhibits rotating in some of its current featured exhibits are “Women of Strength, Women of Color”, and “The Bison: American Icon”. These great exhibits will come and go but the Museum has many permanent exhibits like the most popular “ Earthquakes All Around Us: Restless Dynamic Earth” This exhibits highlights how our earth is always moving, shifting, and sometimes causing great turmoil on the surface. This exhibit takes great pride in its focus on the Arkansas and Tennessee area. It looks into what happened when GreenBrier, AR was hit by 4 earthquakes in one night. A 4.7 at 11PM then 3 aftershocks following, another great part of the museum is The Mansion. Filled with more exhibits this huge house it first became a museum in March of 1930 founded at the Natural history and Industrial Arts. The museum’s IMAX Theater is open to all and shows great movies like Tornado alley, born to be wild, and To the Arctic. Admission for this trifecta is not bad at all. Adults can get in to the museum for $8.25 seniors $7.50 and children $6.50. If you’re interested it is woth your while to bundle your tickets and if going to see an IMAX movie. While looking for a nice evening in Bartlett I would suggest taking a look at what is being placed at the Bartlett Performing Arts and Conference Center. The Performing Arts and Conference Center is in its 13th season of performances making it a pro at what it offers. The center is always offering new great and local artist. One of its most popular attractions is their Dinner Stage Series. This series offers artists like Susan Marshall, and Eden Brent and also a great dinner. Tickets are just $35 for both dinner and the show. The dinners are catered locally by CFY. These events start at 7 with dinner then at 8 the show begins. If you’re looking for more of a day time event then you might want to schedule to go see one of their outdoor festivals. This year’s event is on May 4th and is the Pickin’ Picnic. This is a one time a year event and free to the public. The Performing Arts and Conference Center also offers some great attraction and attention to kids. They have devoted performances that are completely done by kids. Bringing your children to one of these events can show them what they can do and accomplish. The Bartlett Performing Arts and Conference should be a place you stop by and see a show if you can.
