The garden has been around since 1984 and was formerly the Virginia Tech Horticulture Garden but was renamed in 2004 to honor Mrs. Hahn and her husband, T. Marshall Hahn, former president of Virginia Tech. A wonderful collaboration of work between students, faculty, and a handful of volunteers the garden stands today free of charge for visitors to come and enjoy. The garden upkeep is provided  by over 50 volunteer gardeners most of which are working with the Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardener program. The work of all of the volunteers brings you a garden that offers horticulture, landscape architecture, urban forestry, and entomology undergraduate programs exhibits . The seven acres of breathtaking gardens and ponds is sure to amaze. Gaze at the Japanese maples and enjoy the Kio fish. Dance around the Perennial Border and see the 90 species of plants that live here. Enjoy the Shade beds that offer native plants from Asia and Europe. The Peggy Lee Horticulture Garden is more than just a place to stop and visit it is a well loved memorial and member of the Virginia Tech family that will find a place in your heart too.
