Things to do in Chicopee

Munich Haus Since 2004 Munich Haus has been the center for German Cuisine and imported beer in Chicopee. Its considered to be a great place to take friends and family the building iks beautiful and inviting. I wish I could say the same for the staff however but its only true for half of them. The staff is garbed in traditional German wear which makes the ladies rather beautiful but for the men… well we all know what good German beer does to the belly. It may just be my opinion but men in tan shorts and overalls with a hat just aren’t beautiful but they are friendly. Munich Haus is very inviting from the moment you enter; you can smell the kitchen as soon as you enter and let me tell you it is amazing. This is one of the only places I have ever seen to have a Sausage Kitchen, they offer 5 different sausages that will all melt in your mouth they are grilled with sauerkraut, red cabbage, and spatzle. The menu is very extensive with pricing ranging from $12-$25 for entrees. If something a little more traditional is your cup of tea you are sure to find it. Munich Haus is proud to also announce that they are expanding and establishing a beer garden, right outside they will be adding a full bar and a spit to cook chicken and pork. It will be the real deal with an authentic German feel. Chicopee is lucky to have such an establishment.

What to explore in Chicopee

Bernie's Dining Depot At first glance driving by you will probably be shocked to find this a restaurant. Built out of a 1950 train car still siting on a section of railing Bernie’s has been around for many years. Once you step inside however you will see why someone took the time to convert the train car into a dinner, be sure to ask to be seated in the 50’s car and get the best out of our time. Bernie’s servers what I would describe as American, they are open breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dinner is the busiest time of the day and they have popular steaks, ribs, and even succulent prime rib. The prime rib is one of their most popular dishes it is a huge portion that you can make several more meals out of however they do run out so make sure you arrive early in the evening if you are desiring it. Breakfast is also another good meal choice with pancakes that are 10-12 inches large they almost hang off the plate. If you want it then the likelihood is that Bernie’s can make it for you. Service is typically very good however on slower times like the weekend lunch service well can be a little lacking. Its best to hit dinner on the weekend but be sure to call ahead because they will be backed and the only waiting area is on the stairs heading to the trolley which are only partially covered.
