It consists of a park and a marina located in the Riverfront just east of the downtown Detroit. There is a 63-foot conical brick light-house tower mark the entrance of the harbor. It is a 10 story building designed by C. Howard Crane. The theater has three levels of seating: the main floor, the mezzanine and the gallery. The interior design includes a blend of Chinese, Burmese, Indian and Persian motifs. The exterior of the building features a façade with Asian motifs that illuminate at night. The first featured film displayed at the theater was a silent film called Street Angel in 1928. Since then the theater has hosted many live shows and performances. Fox Theatre hosted three performances by Elvis Presley in 1956. During 1960s the theatre hosted many live performances by various Motown recording artists. If you like opera then you are recommended to visit Detroit Opera House. It is the main venue for all the major opera production in the area. The Opera House was built in 1922 and also designed by C. Howard Crane. It was originally known as the Capitol Theatre and can seat up to 4,250 people. The opera house generally host five opera productions, five dance productions and various musical and comedy events each year.
