Things to do in Newton

Charles River Canoe & Kayak Massachusetts is just a beautiful state it is filled with rivers, coastline, forests, and just about anything else you could want. In the small town of Newton there is a lot of that fun. The Charles River runs along newton and because of that business have sprung up. One specific business that has spring up is the Charles River Canoe & Kayak. From the name I’m assuming that you can tell what they do, they rent canoes , kayaks, and even paddle boats. If you have ever rented a canoe or kayak in the past you know that it is a hassle and you often time have a hard time with the boat because it not of very good quality. I personally rented one in Florida and when I jumped in a bunch of spiders ran out of where I put my legs that was one of the quickest kayak trips I have ever taken. But, you don’t need to worry about that here with Charles River Canoe & Kayak they offer top tier boats that are great for beginners and experts. Prices for kayaks range from $8 per hours to $30 per hours for a 4 personal adult kayak. The canoes that they have to offer are around the same price with a standard 2-3 person canoe being $17 an hour and a slightly larger 4-5 person canoe being $30. These rates are very competitive and you won’t find a better place. There are 5 different rental locations in the area two of which are in Newton, then one in Boston, Cambridge, and Natick. The locations also offer a Paddle Store where kayaks can be bought and let me tell you that you won’t find a better product anywhere. They carry top of the line boats that will last years. You can request a guided tour that will teach you how to use the boat and get the most out of your rentals.

What to explore in Newton

Lumiere Restaurant After a long day on the water you might want to sit down for some good food, and Lumiere is your place. It is a fine dining classic bistro, which pretty much means that you might want to head back to your hotel/home and clean up a little before heading into the restaurant. But, it’s going to be well worth the wait because Lumiere is one of the most exquisite restaurants in the area. They strive to be the best they can and get all the ingredients they can from local farms and fishers. They produce comes from Verrill Farm in Concord, fruit from Kimball Fruit Farm in Pepperell, and most of their seafood comes from Ingrid Bengis of Stonnington, Maine. Now with that being said this is going to be the restaurant that you take your significant other because prices are rather high. Main dishes are anywhere from $27 to $33 and first course are between $11-$15. The dishes however are worth the money this isn’t going to be the quality of food you would find at Olive Garden or Outback, it is fresh and never frozen cooked by a seasoned Chef just for you. Enjoy Berkshire Port Tenderloin or a Line Caught Cape Cod Stripped Bass. Lumieres doesn’t skip on the drinks either they have a full bar with signature cocktails, and just like the food they drinks use the best liquor possivle enjoy Maker’s Mark and Crater Lake Vodka in your drinks or ask for a bottle of wine. Lumiere’s keeps over 80 different bottles of wine on their list ready to pop one open at your request. Be sure to ask your server or even the Chef what would be the perfect win to pair with your meal.
