Things to do in Norwalk

Maritime Aquarium Fish are one of the most abundant species on the planet. I would stay there are more types of fish then there are insects. I am no expert so you will have to head over to the Maritime Aquarium to as the experts about it. There is one thing I can tell you and that the rarest animal in the world is the White Alligator. This isn’t really a whole new animal but instead it is an Albino animal. Out of some 5 million American Alligators in the world fewer than 100 are thought to be albino and the numbers could even be lower! If you take there to be 100 White Alligators which is at the very high end of the sale than when you do the math that comes out to be just 0.002%. That’s two thousandths a single percent of alligators are albino. To top that all off the maritime Aquarium even has one on display. I’m not going to do the math but I’m pretty sure the percent of aquariums with albino alligators will be small than that of them in the wild. The 8 foot American Alligator is on display from May 26 throughout labor day. You just have to stop and see this one of a kind animal. It is rather strange at first but something you don’t want to miss. If you do miss out don’t worry there is plenty of other things to do at the Maritime Aquarium. You can pet a shark or sting ray, if getting wet isn’t your idea of then then head over to the River Otter exhibit for one of the most active exhibits at the Aquarium. Otters are described to be like a 3 year old, they are always in motion and never tire. Pricing varies depending on what you want to do and see. The aquarium also has the largest IMAX movie screen in Connecticut and shows full length feature films. Tickets range from $14 to $26.

What to explore in Norwalk

Stepping Stone Museum for Children Have you ever wanted to be able to teach your young child while on a vacation but have never known where to go? Well if your ventures are taking you by Norwalk Connecticut then you are in luck. In Norwalk there is the Stepping Stone Museum. Stepping Stone is a one of a kind children museum that fosters and teaches kids in an educational and more importantly fun way. Stepping Stone is an inspiration to teach around the country in creating new and exciting ways to get children engaged in their learning activities. One of the most exciting exhibits in the museum is its only permanent exhibit and when you see it you will understand why. ColorCoaster is a 27 foot tall mechanical toy coaster. Now this isn’t a coaster that you can ride but instead uses gravity, momentum, lights and a variety of other forces both internal and external to keep the coaster moving in perpetual motion. Another fun exhibit for a wider range of kids is the Build It! Here kids can well… build it. What they can build is virtually endless as the blocks and other building materials endless. Here the main limitation is physics and the imagination of the builder. Stepping Stones is open 7 days a week from 10-5pm, admission is a little high at 15 bucks for adults and children alike however it’s a location that you can spend all day enjoying.
