The Culture & Heritage Museum was original opened in 1950 as a children museum, its purpose was to lure kids in and tech them about their rich culture and heritage. Today that children museum has been modified and built into 4 separate museums the Historic Brattonville, Main Street Children's Museum, McCelvey Center, and the Museum of York County. Each one of these sites are special in their own right. Historic Brattonsville is a 775 acre revolutionary ware site, it is owned and lived on by 3 generations of the Bratton Family. Brattonsville is open Thursday through Saturday from 10-5 and Sunday from 1-5pm admission is cheap at $6 for adults $5 for seniors and $3 for youth. If you family is filled with little ones it would probalby be best to keep them out of the Carolina heat and bring them into the Main Street Childen's Museum at just $5 for adults and $3 for kids. There are lots of fun exhibits one of the current temporary exhibits is named Peanuts... Naturally. Which consists of 50 years of Peanut comic strips. That is the ones with the white dog and little yellow bird. through the years of this comic strip he thought many moral stories that are now being showcased at his beautiful Children's Museum.
