A city coming together to celebrate the winder tines is just a beautiful sight to see. In the city of Warren starting on December Second this year they will open their one of a kind City Square ice Rink. The rink is just north of 12 mile road and to the east of Van Dyke, just looks for the bright lights and people outdoors in the cold. Admission is cheap at just 3 bucks to get in for 2 for seniors. If you don’t have skates don’t worry you can rent a pair for an additional $3 dollars. If your having problems getting around the ice your blades may be getting dull in a quick couple of minutes and $4 bucks you can have them sharpened rink side and get back out on the ice quickly. There is a heated indoor reception area that serves up a mean hotdog for just a few bucks. The City of Warren Ice rink is a great place to take the family to enjoy a night. The rink is open from 3 to 9 pm during the week and open till 10 on Friday. On Saturday come a little earlier and get started at 11am and skate all day till 10pm. Sunday is much the same but closing at 8pm. If your planning ahead make sure to give their website a look as there are girl and boy skate free nights. It would be a great opportunity to save a couple of dollars of your planning to go anyways.

If there is one thing that the Irish do right its making a good old pub. In the town of Warren its no different if traveling through and staying along the busy street of Van Dyke then be sure to hit up the Malones Tavern. It opened its doors in 2002 and has had 10 years of experience and perfecting its venue, staff, and food. Its been a central spot for locals and travelers alike offering a great selection of home style food cooked expertly and priced so everyone can enjoy a full meal. Its an Irish tavern and there is one dinner I always have to get and it’s the Shepard’s Pie. I have traveled to many places and visited many different pubs. They all serve shepherd’s Pie and its amazing how it differs from one location to the next. Malones Tavern wasn’t any different, the shepherd’s pie wasn’t like every other restaurant that I’ve eater at but it was delicious and refreshing. It went perfectly with the stout Irish red ale they had on tap. The wait staff is always great I’ve came several times and each time I get a different server and each times I’m impressed with how attentive and friendly the staff is. Each and every staff members are ready to help you even if they aren’t your server. Its rare to find a location with service that doesn’t glare at you when you ask another server for something. Malones is my favorite place to eat in Warren and ill go again if I end back up in Warren.
