San Diego is a city located right on the coast of Southern California. It is known as the second largest  city in California. San Diego Museums

The San Diego Museum of Man is a museum on anthropology. The collections are based on preThe Museum of Man in San Diego Columbian history of the western Americas.  It also has a collection of Ancient Egyptian antiquities and many other pieces from around the world. The total of artifacts held in the museum is over 72,000 with about 37,000 historical photos. The exhibit is "The Story of Man through the Ages." This exhibit was organized by Dr. Edgar Lee Hewett. He was an archaeologist of the School of American Archaeology.

 

The Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego focuses mainly on the collection, preservation, exhibition, and interpretation of art from 1950 to the present. This museum was discovered in 1941 as The Art Center in La Jolla which was a community art center. In the early 1970's it then changed its name to the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art. There are 4,000 artifacts created after 1950 which include paintings, sculptures, works on paper, photography, video, film, and installation.  This museum is always expanding  and adding new exhibits.

There are plenty of things to do in San Diego for fun while visiting. There many beaches to swim at or body surf or just hang ten.  Visit Seaport Village on the weekends for free entertainment or stroll through Gaslamp Quarter which is 16 1/2 blocks of history in downtown San Diego. There is also the U.S. Olympic Training Center where you can take a tour through the 150 acre facility. This tour includes training fields and tracks, athlete dorms and the Otay Lake Reservoir. You could also visit the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center which is located in Balboa Park. On a certain day every year they set up a big telescope for guests to view all of the stars at night. You can go down to the Mission Beach Boardwalk and ride bikes or rollerblade on a 3 mile scenic route. You could even cross the border and visit Tijuana, Mexico and go shopping in their unique shops.

Sea World Adventure Park San Diego is full of thrill rides and entertaining shows.  San Diego also has the world famous San Diego Zoo. The zoo is located in Balboa Park and is home to over 4,000 animals of over 800 different kinds of species. There is also San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park which is a park of over 2,000 acres ready for exploring. Its an all natural setting to view animals like birds and fish. Then there is the famous Belmont Park which is a beachfront amusement park.  This park is home of The Giant Dipper Roller Coaster and Plunge.  San Diego is also known for LEGOLAND California which is an interactive family theme park for younger children. They have a lot of rides, shows, and attractions.
