Louisiana State Capitol Building
The
Louisiana State Capitol Building was constructed in 1931, and is a
prime example of the art deco architectural style of that era.
Then Governor Huey Long, was the first resident and it is a
monstrosity that reaches 450 feet into the Louisiana skyline and
hits 34 stories. The building itself is a beautiful monument
that houses great murals, sculptures and materials that will astound
you. On the observation deck located on the 27th floor, you
will see much of the area and the 50 acre gardens that grace the
grounds. What makes this building even more interesting is the
fact that Governor Long was assassinated in it by a local doctor and
no one knows why, even to this day.
