There are plenty of things to do to have some fun while your visiting Jacksonville. If you want to soak up some sun and do some camping, you can visit Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park. It runs along the Atlantic Ocean for about 1.5 miles. There you can do anything from swimming and fishing to sailing and camping. This campsite is open daily from 8am to 8pm. There is only a small fee to pay for enjoying one of the most relaxing places in Jacksonville. If you would rather have a more marine like vacation, you can always visit Marineland. This is a place where you can swim and interact with the dolphins. They originally opened in 1938 to create a marine life like in the wild for the purpose of filming only. Most Hollywood under water films were filmed here and it was formerly named Marine Studios. Soon after this became one of the largest oceanariums for people to see what marine life was like. It then turned into a performance from the dolphins, this attracted about 500,000 visitors per year. Today the oceanarium is known as an educational experience as you can swim, touch, feed, and even paint with the dolphins. If your looking for something with even more adventure you can try out Kayak Amelia. Their Mission statement is "To create a wake, whose ripples provide our guests with a sense of wonder about the natural world, while minimizing our impact on the daily lives of the non-human neighbors whose home we share." The unguided tour is for someone who wants to create their own adventure! Enjoy the excitement of the water!
