• The Byrd Theater
  Offering movies for the unbelievable price of $1.99, the Byrd is a non-profit organization that raises funds to preserve the theater for future generations Showing its first premier films in 1928, the Theater boasts itself as Richmond's Landmark Palace. The theater can be more attracting than the movies themselves with Marble walls, crystal chandeliers,and frescoes painted all around.  Playing the Wurlitzer Pipe Organ on Saturday nights, one of two organs of it's kind in the U.S. is the famous organist Bob Gulledge.
  
  
• Jefferson Hotel
  Escape to a place of days gone by with marble pillars, 70 foot ceilings and stain glass skylight windows. Descend the grand staircase from the Palm Court to the Rotunda where film makers shot some of the scenes for "Gone With The Wind."  Famous guests have come here to relax such as Barrymore, Whitney, Scott Fitzgerald, Charlie Chaplin to name a few. • St. Paul's Episcopal Church 
  Visible from the western parts of the capital is a white Bell Tower belonging to St. Paul's Episcopal Church built in 1844. The most important church during the Civil War, it was built on the same grounds as a previous Monumental church. Worshipping there were the two most prestigious men of the confederacy, General Robert E. Lee and President Jefferson Davis.  During the service on April 2nd of 1865, the message to evacuate Richmond was delivered to President Davis on that same day.
