Children's Museum of Houston
This museum
is designed just for kids with many interactive
exhibits. The museum focuses on Science,
culture, geography, and creativity. Some of the
exhibits are the Babbling Bayou (water
exploration), Ecostation, and Cyber Clubhouse.
The exhibits that are shown are called traveling
exhibits which make sure they never get boring
for the kids.

Museum of Fine Arts
This
museum was first founded in 1900. The art
represents a wide range of history. In the
collection there is Renaissance and Baroque
items, African gold pieces, and much more. Also
with the museum there is a Cullen Sculpture
Garden which is 18 acres of public gardens and
two historic house museums. |


Menil Collection
This
collection was made by Dominique and John de
Menil. They designed a steel and cypress
building to show their architecture and art.
This is known as one of the country's finest
private collections. There is Modern works,
tribal and ethnic art, and antiquities that are
shown. |


San
Jacinto Battleground
San
Jacinto Battleground is located in La Porte and
is a historical park. There is a column that
represents the site and it stands 15 feet taller
than the Washington Monument and is topped with
a huge star. There is also a museum in the base
of the monument. |


Space Center Houston
The
Space Center in Houston is located near Clear
Lake. Visitors are not allowed to see all of the
Space Center operations due to security purposes
but there is a tram tour that takes visitors to
most working facilities. Two of the most popular
spots are the Saturn rocket or the shuttle
payload bays. The exhibits in the Space Center
show the history of manned spaceflight and hoped
for future explorations. |


Minute Maid Park
The
Minute Maid Park is located in downtown Houston
and premiered in 2000. It is a ball field that is
proven to be a fan favorite. This field is home
of the Astros Baseball and it was built on
parking lots by the old train station. The roof
of the stadium opens up when the weather is mild
and closes when rain appears or even when the
air conditioner is needed. |


Hermann Park
Hermann Park is located centrally so visitors
can visit other attractions as well. The zoo, an
outdoor theater, a Japanese garden, and a golf
course surrounds the park. In the park there is
a mini train, paddle boats for rent, and
beautiful pine trees for a picnic. There is also
a children's playground, a reflection pool, and
a jogging path. |


Heritage Society
Heritage Society was organized in
the 1950's to preserve the property's Kellum-Noble
House. Later there were other historic homes
added and restored. Today there are eight
structures that exist, they are styled in
period-appropriate furnishings. There is a
cabin, a home built by a freed slave, a church,
a grander, and oil financed structures. |


John
P. McGovern Museum of Health & Medical Science
This
museum is affiliated with the Texas Medical
Center and is known to take education to a new
level. The most popular attraction in the museum
is the "Amazing Body Pavilion". This attraction
is a huge replica of the human body that lets
kids walk through the brain, the heart, the rib
cage, and more. There are also many interactive
displays about memory, vision, circulation, and
hearing. |


Houston Museum of Natural Science
This museum holds mostly anything
and everything people might want to know about
nature. The museum first opened in 1909 and
shows visitors about energy, wildlife,
astronomy, and much more. Some of the exhibits
are about the Serengeti plains, Hall of the
Americas, and more. There is also a showcase of
more than 600 gems and minerals. |
