Classical Chinese Garden
This
Classical Chinese Garden takes up the entire
city block near Chinatown. The garden was
designed by landscape architects from Suzhou,
which is Portland's sister city. This
garden was looked at as a microcosm of the
natural world. The garden shows a series of
composed vistas and symbolic positions of rock,
water, and vegetation.

Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park
This
waterfront park is located in downtown Portland.
This park is popular whether its raining or not.
Families, bikers, bladers, and joggers all
gather at the park to relax and enjoy nature.
The park also holds many city events such as the
Blue's Festival, the Oregon Brewers, and many
more. |


International Rose Test Gardens
This
garden sits high above the city of Portland
which gives visitors a great view. This test
garden was instituted in 1917 and has more than
8000 plants that represent over 400 different
species. It is said that there is one rose in
this garden that will capture everyone's

Japanese Garden
The
Japanese Garden consist of five different
gardens that are designed by Japanese landscape
architect. The garden opened in 1967 and the
surrounding mountain captures the beauty. The
five different gardens are the Strolling Pond,
Tea, Natural, Flat, and Dry Landscape. Each of
the gardens have their own character and spirit.

Oregon Museum of Science and Industry
This
is a technology museum and offers many hundreds
of exhibits. The exhibits are relating to
computers, space, and earth sciences. This
museum is for the whole family to enjoy, even
the kids like the interactive exhibits they
offer. Also in the museum there is an Omnimax
theater, a planetarium, laser show, motion
simulator, and an outdoor river walk. |


Oregon Zoo
This zoo sits on 64 acres of land and was
originated by Richard Knight. The zoo is located
in Washington Park and gives over 1000 animals a
place to live. It is one of the state's largest
attractions. Some of the different attractions
inside the zoo are replicas of the terrains of
Africa, Alaska, the Amazon forest and the
Savannah. Some animals in the zoo are bats, elk,
penguins, big cats, and Asian elephants. |


Pioneer Courthouse Square
The
Pioneer Courthouse Square is also known as
Portland's "living room" mostly due to its
popularity. Lately the site was used for a
school, a hotel, and a parking garage. The space
that takes place today was first originated in
1974, it first opened in 1984. The Pioneer
Courthouse Square holds many events year round
such as concerts and city celebrations. |


Pittock Mansion
This mansion is gives visitors a
glimpse at the early 20th century affluence. It
was first built in 1914 by Henry Pittock who is
the founder of the "Daily Oregonian." The
mansion is now owned by the city of Portland. It
has beautiful French and English antiques and an
awesome staircase that starts from the basement. |


Portland Art Museum
This
museum was first originated in the 1890's and
sits along the Park Blocks. It is the oldest art
institute in the area. This museum also holds
permanent collections which includes Northwest
Coastal Indian art, Chinese artifacts and
European and Classical art. There is also some
contemporary American artwork, an outdoor
sculpture, and more. |


Portland Saturday Market
The Saturday Market is a weekend
event the city holds for anyone looking for a
souvenir. It has been an attraction since 1974.
There are many booths filled with artwork,
crafts, food, flowers, and much more. While
walking along the stretch of booths there are
musicians that play to make the atmosphere more
