Balboa Park
Balboa Park
is known as a must see attraction with many
different cultural and recreational facilities.
Most visitors start at the welcome center to get
a map and events calendar as well as a Balboa

Cabrillo National Monument
This
monument was named by the famed Portuguese
explorer Juan Rodriquez Cabrillo. Juan landed in
San Diego Bay in 1542. Today there is a museum
also included. It depicts Cabrillo's exploits
and other early explorers. Also included is an
on-site Point Loma Lighthouse that stands 433
feet high above the ocean. |


Coronado
Coronado is located in an island a bit south of
San Diego. This island is accessible via driving
on the San Diego-Coronado Bridge. Most people
take a ferry from the Broadway Pier due to more
scenery. On the Coronado island there are
amazing white beaches, restaurants, shops, and
hotels. |


Gaslamp Quarter
Gaslamp Quarter is a 16 block section of
downtown. It is a historical district which
include many shops, art galleries, restaurants,
and nightclubs. It is also known as a great
neighborhood for early Victorian architecture.
There is the William Heath Davis House which
includes exhibits showing Gaslamps history.

Mission Bay Park
Mission Bay Park sits on about 4600 acres of
land with 27 miles of shoreline, 19 of which are
sandy beach. Also on the property of the park
are marinas, a horseshoe court, sand volleyball,
fire rings, picnic areas, playgrounds, and
biking, roller-skating, and jogging paths.

Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego
This
is a beautiful museum that was once the 1916
Mission style home of Ellen Browning Scripps who
was a San Diego philanthropist. In the mid
1900's the expansions to the original building
were complete with a great collection of post-
1950's contemporary art from famous artists
Warhol, Cornell, and Stella. |


Old
Town Trolley Tours
The
Old Town Trolley Tours are a very exciting way
to see the city and learn over 400 years of San
Diego's history. The tours go about every 30
Minutes starting around 9 in the morning. The
tours usually last about 2 hours. After the tour
most visitors take a stroll around Old Town to
see the beginnings of San Diego. |


San
Diego Zoo
The San Diego zoo has more than 4,000
animals and is known as the best zoo in the US.
It has state-of-the-art habitats that focus on
flora and fauna of different ecosystems. Some of
the animals the zoo houses are Giant Pandas,
koalas, monkeys, elephants, tigers, polar bears,

Sea
World Adventure Park
This
adventure park is located in Mission Bay and is
the most popular attractions. Here at Sea World
visitors can see seals, walruses, manatees,
polar bears, penguins, and of course Shamu.
Shamu is the most popular killer whale. There
are also many exhibits such as the Wild Artic as
well as rides and much more. |


Wild
Animal Park
This Wild Animal Park is also another zoo
located here in San Diego. This zoo houses more
than 3,200 animal on about 1,800 African themed
acres. The main and most popular exhibit is the
Heart of Africa which is home to the cheetahs,
giraffes, okapis and many birds. There are also
gorillas, meerkats, and much more throughout the
zoo as well. |
