Coit Tower
The Coit
Tower is known as a tribute to San Francisco's
firefighters. It is 210 feet tall and is a very
popular feature for San Francisco and has been
since 1933. This tower consists of a 360 degree
tour. The tour views the city and the Bay and
the inside of the tower is covered with murals
commissioned by a public arts predecessor to the
WPA.

Golden Gate Bridge
The
Golden Gate Bridge is known as one of the
world's most famous bridges. Its stretches 6450
feet and connects San Francisco and Marion
County. The bridge was completed in 1937 and
cost about 35 million dollars. It used to be
known as the "Bridge that could not be built."
It is now a landmark from many places around the
Bay. |


Cable Cars
Cable Cars are a signature way of transportation
in San Francisco. These cars are the ones to
take those steep hills and they have been since
1873. In 1964 the cars were declared a National
Historic Landmark. These cars are a must if your

Golden Gate Park

park is known as the largest cultivated urban
park in the country. Its sits on over 1000 acres
of land. It is exactly 3 miles inland from the
Bay and the de young Museum is located in that
same area, as well as the Japanese Tea Garden,
Strybing Arboretum, the California Academy of
Sciences, and many more. |


Alcatraz
The
Alcatraz is a popular place for people to take
tour of a prison that ran for 34 years. The
inmates in this prison were high risk escapees
and troublemakers. This prison held some famous
people such as Al "Scarface" Capone and Robert
"Birdman" Stroud. The tour of Alcatraz consist
of the cell blocks, the cafeteria, and the
prison yard. |

de young Memorial Museum
This
museum was first opened in 1895, it is the
oldest art museum in San Francisco. It has been
renovated in 2005 and was closed for many months
but now looks great with copper-clad exterior
and newly fashioned exhibits. The main feature
in the museum is the American art from the
colonial period to the mid 20th century. |


Asian Art Museum
This museum is one of the largest museums in the
western world that is solely dedicated to Asian
art. This museum holds about 15,000 "treasures"
that stretch over a span of 6000 years of
history. They display over 2500 pieces of
work at one time. They introduce you to Asia's
major cultures such as India, Tibet, China,
Japan, and Korea.It is located in the city's old
building formerly known as the Main Library. |


Chinatown
This is a city within a city and is very
popular for tourist. In the streets of
Chinatown, you will find all kinds of different
things such as exotic ingredients, skills and
jade, and colorful clothing and gadgets which
are all being sold to tourist. On the Chinese
New Year there are Chinese traditions and great
Chinese food being offered. |


Fisherman's Wharf
The
Fisherman's Wharf is also a significant part to
San Francisco. This is usually the first stop
for tourist. This restaurant serves a sample
Dungeness crab and clam chowder. You can also
pick up souvenir shirts or just take in the
sunshine. Their motto is to see local color,
commerce and cool. |


Aquarium of the Bay
This aquarium is located next to
PIER 39. Its exhibits are mostly focused on the
diversity of aquatic animals and distinctive
ecosystems. It has about 600,000 visitors every
year and offers free classes and tours to over
13,000 Bay Area school children each year as
well. It holds more than 20,000 aquatic
animals such as sharks, bat rays, and skates. |
