Florida Aquarium
The aquarium
holds more than 20,000 plants and animals in
both fresh water and saltwater. It also has a
million gallon coral reef display that holds all
different kinds of fish. Divers feed the sharks
in the deep water aquarium twice a day. There is
an event called the "Penguin Promenade" which is
an up close encounter with African black-footed
Penguins for kids.

Busch Gardens
Busch Gardens is one of the most thrilling place
to be. The park is based on Africa and is
divided into 10 different sections that have
exotic animals, roller coasters, and live
entertainment. In "Edge of Africa" you can be up
close and personal with hyenas, lions, and
crocodiles. If you visit "The Congo" you can see
white tigers and ride water rides. This park is
filled with many thrilling things to do for the
whole family. |


Tampa Museum of Art
This museum is very unique from where it is
located which is riverside. It has a collection
of classical Greek and Roman artwork. It is
known as one of the country's best museums. Some
of the displays here at the museum are rotating
and are traveling exhibits. Outside of the
museum there is a park and sculpture garden that
are waterside to enjoy. |


Manatee Viewing Center
Manatees are endangered species and were once
thought to be mermaids. During the winter they
would go towards the Tampa Bay's power plant for
warmer waters. At this center, the visitors can
watch the manatees from a observation platform.
There is also an educational building that has
mini theaters that show visitors the habits and
lives of manatees. |


Lowry Park Zoo
This
zoo is sitting on 24 acres of landscaping and
holds animals from four continents. The animals
come from environments for primates and Asian
animals. They have a petting zoo and also an
aquatic center that has manatees and helps
injured ones back to health. It also includes a
Discovery Center which does hands-on activities
on nature and small animals. As well as many
more exciting things to explore. |


Ybor
City Walking Tour
This is sponsored by the Ybor City State
Museum Society and the Chamber of Commerce.
These walking tours take visitors through
Tampa's most historic places. The tour is led by
a local resident and lasts about 1.5 hours. The
tour starts at the museum and goes through the
gardens there and the goes to Ybor City itself.
The guide will tell visitors the history of the
area and details about certain buildings and
much more. |


Henry B. Plant Museum
This museum was formerly held in the Tampa Bay
Hotel. In this museum visitors will learn about
Tampa's history and development. There are
special exhibits that show the city's role in
the Spanish-American War. It also shows European
and Asian artwork and some furnishings from the
hotel's heyday. During the Christmas holiday,
the visitors walk through the museum by
candlelight. |


Museum of Science and Industry
If you love science or just like to know
why things happen and how they happen, then this
is the place for you. This museum has over 450
hands-on exhibits. Some of the exciting exhibits
are experiencing the hurricane force winds, zero
gravity and the effects of simulated flight.
There are also many more exhibits to explore and
learn about. |


Canoe Escape
The
Canoe Escape runs along the Hillsborough River.
This adventure can be with or without a guide as
well as deciding how long your own adventure
will be. On your exploration on the river you
will see vegetation and flowering plants and you
may also see herons, alligators, deer, wild
pigs, and many other wild animals. |


Syd Entel Gallery
This is a gallery of Fine Art and
Hand Blown Glass. This is a 5000 square foot
gallery and is located on Main Street. It holds
the finest in national and internationally
acclaimed artists from all over the world as
well as the premier American Glass artists. This
gallery is a 27 year family tradition held by
Syd Entel and Susan Benjamin. |
