Greaektown
Comprised of a few city blocks with Monroe Street at the center, it is the
epicenter for popular restaurants
and entertainment including many restaurants that specialize in authentic
Greek cuisine. Other forms of Greek architectural themes like the
Parthenon, Pegasus seem to have been designed into the many of the
buildings on Monroe street. Through-out the day, the air is filled with Greek
music creating certain harmony with the many popular restaurants such as Cyprus
Taverna, New Hellas Cafe, Pegasus Taverna, and Pizza Papalis.

Detroit International Jazz Festival
Dating back to 1980, the Jazz Festival has kept with tradition providing some
of the best Jazz around. Celebrating the cities Jazz heritage helped put a
positive spin on the downtown area. Drawing crowds upward of 800,000 people to
Detroits attractive river front area, cause the USA largest jazz festival to
have a life of it's own. Big names include Tommy Flanagan, Freddy Cole,
and Fiddler Williams.

Holocaust Memorial Center
On December 6, 1981, the Holocaust Memorial Center was established at Maple and
Drake Roads in West Bloomfield. More than one million visitors from all over
the world have been welcomed by HMC. Moreover, thousands of school children
have been able to speak with a survivors of the Holocaust. It's main object
includes paying tribute to the men and women who throughout history, have
rescued and supported their fellow human beings and to educate society on how
to understand and avoid genocide in the future. Rated as #1 historical
tourist attraction by the Detroit News, the HMC is the first free-institute of
its kind in the United States.
