Fullerton Museum Center
The Fullerton Museum Center officially opened in 1974, but began many years before that, with the intention of developing and providing the finest multi-disciplinary displays and educational programs in the topics of art, history and science. One of the best exhibits the museum is currently being presented called aptly; Before Fullerton: The Prehistory of North Orange County and contains much information and exhibits about the period before the first settlers arrived in the region. You'll learn about the prehistoric animals that lived in the area, with one of the first relics ever obtained by the early museum coming from the LaBrea Tar Pits, and containing bones of a prehistoric animal. The display will describe the amazingly diverse ecosystems and how the earliest humans would make good use of their natural resources that exist in their area. There are many fossils, documents, archaeological relics and historic maps included in this interesting and exciting exhibit that lasts only until May. Another marvelous exhibit, or really an opportunity for parents is the Kids Programs at FMC that is more fun for the parents probably as they watch and take part in various activities offered to the parents of small children, that includes games, crafts, puzzles and stories. Their Wednesday art studio is great for those youngsters in the first six grades of school, helping them to learn more about are and to see if they have an interest or talent for that genre. One of their continuous exhibits is about the early years of the electric guitar and called; Solid Design: Leo Fender's Telecaster and showcases early examples of the guitar and much more that is sure to bring in many visitors that enjoy the sounds of the instrument and the songs that would be created to accompany it. An upcoming exhibit will start soon, called Julius Shulman: Desert Modern and contains many of the outstanding photographers works. This collection contains about 100 color and black and white photos that feature many famous folks like, Albert Frey, Quincy Jones, John Lautner and Richard Neutra plus many others. The center is always offering some interesting exhibits to entice the community to visit and partake of the many exciting things going on here for the entire family. A great place to visit when you are in the area and one that is sure to make an enjoyable day.

Fender Museum of Music & Art
The Fender Museum of Music and Art is located in Corona, California and is a marvelous venue for folks of all ages and interests. If you can read music already, then you might have a chance to audition for an opening in one of their existing classes. These exciting classes are separated into beginners, intermediates and advanced levels, so that every student will progress at his or her own rate, which is determined by your interests and abilities. The Muzeo is one of the newest museums in the southern California region, and was created to become a center for culture, the arts, knowledge and most significantly, entertainment; as a unique new model for the urban cultural centers of this age, that will feature many important and world-class traveling exhibits. The Muzeo will focus on unique changing displays, weekend festivals, lectures, classes and special events that will engage the local community and bring them into this 25,000 square foot complex that is located in the original Carnegie Library that was constructed back in 1908, but with a new state-of-the-art gallery that has been incorporated into the urban setting, with connecting courtyards, street-level retail shops and apartment loft living. Muzeo means museum in the international language of Esperanto, and raises the conceptual ideas of a regional cultural center for the 21st century visitors. This modern and interesting museum is believed to be the future of museums and cultural centers that offer modern self-guided audio podcasts, modern day research facilities, Wi-Fi access, interactive elements and interchangeable exhibit capabilities. Current exhibitions include Journeys: A Photographic Exhibition, which represents the works of 48 fine art photographers from the Photographic Society of Orange County. This exhibit features 110 photographs that have been taken in 56 countries and will contain many familiar places and some not so famous. Photos will reveal things like a sunset in Nepal on Macchhapuchhre, a baby gorilla in Rwanda, a Himba woman in Namibia and the singing dunes in Mongolia. Another fascinating exhibit is called simply, Gold, and it is much more than simple, with over 120 gorgeously crafted works of pre-Columbian gold works from Penn Museum's 1940 excavations at the ancient cemetery site of Sitio Conte in Central Panama, some 100 miles west of Panama City. These beautiful gold relics were created by goldsmiths and ancient artisans over a thousand years ago. The exhibit contains such outstanding pieces like cast pendants, gold-sheathed ear rods, nose ornaments, embossed plaques, polychrome ceramics, necklaces, and objects made from precious and semi-precious stones, bone and whale-tooth ivory. Making this a spectacular time to visit is the enticing Chocolate: The Exhibition that begins in June and runs to September, with some interesting and exciting views, ideas and imagery that is sure to create an immediate urge inside you. You will learn much about this delicious food, that was first tried by the ancient Mayans as a drink, and then on to the Aztecs that used the seeds for money, and then the Spanish invasion into the new world that would bring that delicacy to the courts and courtesans of Europe; and finally, the world.

Richard Nixon Library and Museum
The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum contains the presidential library and gravesite of Richard Milhous Nixon, the 37th President of the United States, and one of the most disliked and distrusted presidents that this country has ever seen. The complex is located in Yorba Linda, California and occupies nine acres of landscaped grounds, including the house that he was born in, in 1913, and would spend his childhood. He was, without a doubt, the most controversial president that this country has ever had, especially the period that he would be president, which was also, one of the most turbulent periods in our history. And there is still quite a bit of controversy involved with his secret tapes and other hidden discrepancies that existed during his terms, including the final insult to both Nixon and the nation, which occurred at Watergate. His museum occupies a 52,000 square foot structure that provides a narrative of his life and career, with his birthplace behind the museum. There is a large collection of memorabilia, formal attire and photographs, of Richard, his wife Pat, and their children. There are numerous bronze figures of the world's leaders that had had significant relations with Nixon as president or vice-president under Eisenhower, and the customized 1969 Lincoln Continental that is currently displayed in the domestic affairs gallery. The VH-3A Sea King helicopter that he used is also located in the grounds; and is the same helicopter that was used by Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Ford and was used to take the resigned president from the White House to Andrews Air Force Base on August 9, 1974. The archives contain about 6.2 million pages of records along with film reels, recordings and photographs, with 46 million pages of official White House documents from his administration. Beginning in July, 2010, all of the processed materials are available for research use at his library in Yorba Linda. A new archives-curated exhibit about the Watergate scandal was due to have opened in 2010, but had to be postponed after the Nixon Foundation filed a written objection. A committee had to be formed to decide the matter, that is still in the works.

Muckenthaler Cultural Center
The Muckethaler Cultural Center in Fullerton, California is housed in the former residence of Adella and Walter Muckenthaler, that sits atop a hill in Fullerton, on eight and a half acres. The 18 room villa would be donated to the city in 1965 by Harold, the son of Adella and Walter, that wanted to see his childhood home used as a cultural center so that the public could come here and enjoy the many venues. It would become a National Register of Historic Places site in 1999, and now, in its 45th year, it offers the community over 100 performances, classes and gallery exhibits each year, as well as serving more than 25,000 folks. The center also hosts over 75 weddings and corporate events each year, and they have won numerous awards during those years. Their current exhibit is one of great interest and excitement, called Brush Strokes 2011: Traditional and Contemporary Calligraphy with Seal Carving Images, which has some fantastic imagery. Included in this venue is the work of Jongkuk Lee, in his first American exhibition of Hanji, a traditional Korean paper sculpture. What makes this artist stand out more extraordinarily is that he grows mulberry bushes in the mountains of his homeland so that he can make the best paper for his outstanding two and three dimensional painted sculptural forms. The center offers many exciting special events that includes festivals, jazz festival, motor car festival and Muck luau; classes for all ages and interests and much more.
