How about the French people what were they doing?  In this exhibit all these questions & more will be answered through actual recordings, artifacts reflecting their lives.  Learn about the early missions, settlers, soldiers and much more.  Now we are moving on to the second floor: Identity- Here you will explore the story of how Texas became an independent nation in Building the Lone Star Identity.  See the giant time line of Texas history unfold on a 60 foot video wall with many interactive stations where you can learn more interesting details about several important events in Texas history.  And last is the third floor: Opportunity, here you can see how Texans have preserved the lands and approached everything from drilling oil to redefining world technology.  Also see how ranching plays an important role adapting to diverse conditions of the land to prosper & how oil changed Texas.  Take a seat in the Oil Tank Theater and relax as Walter Cronkite narrates a media presentation exploring the impact of oil in Texas.  The Museums exhibits bring the Story of Texas to life through an ongoing process of changing historical objects.  If this is your first visit to the Lone Star State you should visit The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum.
