Fair of Texas
Every year
there is a fair held in Fair Park usually from late September
until the middle of October. There are over 3 million people who
visit this fair every year. It is one of the largest year round
attractions in North America. At this Fair visitors will find
amusement rides, livestock shows, cooking contests, art
competitions, college football games, outdoor music concerts,
and even an IMAX movie screenings. This attractions sits on 277
acres of land which is a National Landmark itself since 1886.
Dallas
Zoo
The Dallas Zoo
is located in Southwest Dallas and has many different species
from all over the world housed. One of the most popular animals
in the zoo is the Statuesque bronze giraffe which is 67 and a
half feet tall. Some of the exhibits in the zoo are Primate
Place and Snout Route which are tapirs and anteaters. They also
have the Wilds of Africa exhibit that have 80 different kinds of
African animals. Overall this zoo has about 8000 animals which
are about 380 different types of animals.
Dallas
Arboretum and Botanical Garden
The Dallas
Arboretum and Botanical Garden is located on the shores of White
Rock Lake. It is sitting on 66 acres of land filled with
beautiful blooming flower beds, fresh green lawns, and huge lush
trees. This is a relaxing environment with garden houses with
over 2400 types of plants and flowers. Also located on the
property is the DeGolyer Mansion which is a Spanish style
hacienda founded in 1940. The garden has many events each year
for people to enjoy as well. |
